[FULL CASE STUDY COMING SOON]

The Library in Kandji hosts reusable configurations (called Library Items) that can be assigned to devices. Through research we identified the main actions users took on this page were 1) Reviewing the installation status of Library Items, primarily looking for failed installations, 2) Locating existing Library Items, and 3) Adding new or browsing new Library Items. The previous design made it difficult for users to identify Library Items with installation errors, as well as find Library Items, particularly if they forgot the name of the Library Item.

Previous designs:
Redesign

The redesign introduced more advanced filtering, better hierarchy of information of the cards, responsiveness, and suggested actions based on search. We also added an empty state with recommended actions based my PM and I's our experience in the PLG team. Also on the growth side, the design includes multiple places for potential education and marketing, with the inclusion of a new space for a marketing banner and a detail side panel to learn more while browsing Library Items.

Redesigned main page, introducing a left nav vs dropdown to view Library Items by category, adding iconography to different alert statuses and greying them out when not relevant, and showing more Library Items per page.
Add New Library Item page, incorporating a new flyout to see more info, which can be utilized in the future for more education and demos.
Responsive design was added to the pages.
An empty state was added. Based on my experience with the growth team, I recommended content for this page to encourage users to take actions that were likely to lead to conversion during the free trial experience.
Even after the redesign, we frequently heard that customers were trying to add new Library Items from the existing Library page. I added a feature so that when users searched for a Library Item in their existing Library, suggested actions to add relevant Library Items would appear at the bottom. This way, they could add any Library Item they search for without going to the "Add new" page.

Here also is shown the marketing banner slot.
